Coup was popular among the plains tribes. A hand to hand fighting skill believed to be more courageous than fighting with bow & arrow. These braves wore their golden eagle tail feathers as ceremonial robe. This proclaimed the braves coup & entitled him to respect as a Great Warrior. The feathers displayed show a Foe Killed, Throat Cut, Single Wound, Foe Scalped, Many Coups & Many Wounds.
